WHICH IS BETTER: IT WATER OR OIL????
I have used different things to clean my face over the years. I have never really had any issues with my face until i was diagnosed with lupus. My skin became very dry. Regardless what I used. Ughh, this was driving me crazy like I had not put on cold cream, lotion, moisturizer or anything you could think of.
We've all been taught oil on our skin was bad for us. So many beauty products tells us that they get rid of oil, with its cleaners. That oil causes black heads, white heads, irritations and other types of acne.
This may sound crazy but pay close attention to what I'm about to say. Stop using your facial cleanser for 2 weeks. Hey I know its extreme so give it a week. I want you to get some oils and massage (rub) them into your face. After your done take a warm wash cloth and wipe all the oils off your face. That's all you have to do. really that's it. Your face will never look the same. And it will because of the oil. How ironic, right?
If your skin is dry like mines was, oily, normal or combination it will secrete oil. Oil breaks down oil. Do you remember that from chemistry class. So, cleansing with oil removes the dirty, make up and soiled oils. Replenishing your skin with fresh oils. You too, can get radiate skin without foam, suds, harsh chemicals or any burning.
So to do the oil cleansing you will need a carrier oil. You must have a carrier oil always. Castor oil is the best base oil that should be used always. Carrier oils will include: jojoba oil ( which is good for all skin types and durable for acne prone skin), sweet almond oil (which is good for all skin types, especially for oily skin), grape seed oil (good for all skin types, especially oily), avocado (which is good for dry and aging skin)) sunflower seed ( which is good for all skin types).
here are the following measurements to use:
Oily skin: use 2/3 cup castor oil and 1/3 cup castor oil or 2 teaspoons castor oil and 1 teaspoon carrier oil.
Normal skin: use equal parts castor oil and carrier oil or 1 1/2 teaspoon castor oil and 1 1/2 teaspoon carrier oil
Dry skin: use 1/3 castor oil and 2/3 carrier oil of 2 teaspoon carrier oil or 2 teaspoon carrier oil and 1 teaspoon castor oil.
Prepare: mix your oils together ahead of time. Turn your water on to heat up to an extremely warm temperature. Keep it running. Have your clean wash cloth sitting beside on the sink.
Cleanse: There is no reason to pre clean your face. Regardless if your wearing makeup. Pour the oil mixture in the palm of your hand and apply it all over your face. Rub it in for 2 minutes or so. Then soak the wash cloth in the warm water then wring it out and the wash cloth on your face for 10-15 seconds. then begin to slowly wipe it off. Rinse your wash cloth and repeat until you've wiped all the oil off your face.
That's all it takes, you should not need any moisturizer after your done cleaning. Buy if you still need a moisturizer then apply moisturizer.
NOTE*** Lavender oil can be added which is good for acne and oily prone skin. Carrot seed oil and Rose hip oil is good for normal and dry skin. Tea tree oil is good for all skin types. Just ass 3-4 drops to your mixture.
